Feb 3, 2009 (DVB), Three National League for Democracy branches in Mandalay held a joint meeting yesterday and discussed plans to build a broad popular movement to tackle the challenges facing the Burmese people.
NLD members from Meikhtila, Yamaethin and Myin Chan said discussed initiating a public movement in which all Burmese people could participate, according to Meikhtila NLD secretary Myint Myint Aye.
The participants also called for equal treatment of all political groups and support for the NLD's central executive committee statement.
