With fresh fears about North Korea’s role in a nascent nuclear weapons programme in Burma recently surfacing, DVB revisits a secretive trip taken by senior junta officials, including third-in-command Shwe Mann, to the pariah state in November 2008. The itinerary of the trip took in mountain bunker networks, SCUD missile factories and air defense systems, and was seen as a key marker in the warming relations between the two countries.
