The National Unity Government (NUG) has rejected regime media reports on Tuesday alleging that Naypyidaw authorities infiltrated its online fundraising portal, the People’s Revolution Supply Family (PRF), to identify over 2,700 donors.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, the NUG accused the regime of deploying intimidation tactics to disrupt resistance funding networks, while accusing mobile wallet provider Wave Money and its banking partner Yoma Bank of handing over confidential customer financial records to authorities.
Neither Wave Money nor Yoma Bank has issued a public response to the allegations.
The NUG’s rebuttal follows regime media reporting that authorities had identified details on more than 2,700 individuals accused of donating to the PRF portal, resulting in the arrest of 21 people who face prosecution under the Counter-Terrorism Law.
The regime in Naypyidaw claimed that over 700 Wave Pay users transferred funds to resistance channels alongside 2,000 users across parallel platforms—including 1,000 on NUGPay and another 1,000 on the Spring Development Bank (SDB), two blockchain-based payment ecosystems established by NUG supporters.
Regime authorities stated that active investigations remain underway to trace the remaining 2,679 individuals.
While acknowledging the recent arrests, the NUG firmly disputed the regime’s assertion that donor data originated from a compromise of the PRF system.
Opposition officials clarified that the regimr likely compiled transaction intelligence directly from seized Wave Money agent records rather than extracting data from the PRF servers.
The NUG emphasized that the PRF platform is engineered without collecting or storing sensitive personal identifiers—requiring only an alias and email address for registration—making it technically impossible to track individual identities through the portal.
Established in December 2021 to fund food and non-lethal logistical support for People’s Defence Force (PDF) units, the PRF has grown to over 18,000 members and raised more than $35 million USD to date.
