Around 150,000 Burmese refugees live in camps along the Thai-Burma border, the majority displaced by conflict in neighbouring Karen state. Many have been here for decades, but their future is uncertain: the Thai government has been delivering mixed messages about whether they will be repatriated to Burma after the 7 November elections, where they are likely to face the same conditions they fled from.
