Burma receives first shipment of Russian fighter jets

Burma has received its first shipment of two Russian Su-30 fighter jets as part of its contract with Russia, said the regime Minister of Industry Charlie Than. “Two aircraft have already been delivered,” he told a Russian state news agency on the sidelines of the 2023 Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia on Sept. 10. 

A regime delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister General Mya Tun Oo and Minister of Industry Charlie Than are attending the 8th Eastern Economic Forum Sept. 10-13. Russia and Burma signed a contract in September 2022 for the delivery of six Russian-made fighter jets designed for aerial targets engagement, reconnaissance and combat employment.
