An eight-month-old Burmese child was abducted in the Thai border town of Mae Sot on Wednesday evening.
CCTV camera footage shows a woman approaching the baby, who was asleep on the pavement next to her 12-year-old uncle. After picking the child up, the woman then returns to a white vehicle, which drives off.
The kidnapping of the baby, identified as O-ishay, took place outside of the Bank of Ayutthaya’s Mae Sot branch.
“She was with her uncle who had come to play computer games. They were fast asleep when the woman came out of a car and picked her up,” said Mahakima, the 18-year-old mother of the abducted child.
