A fundraising concert for survivors of the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar called “Harmony for Hope” was held at Yoda’s CNX Gallery in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on July 18. It was organized by Turning Tables in collaboration with River Catchers, Food Not Bombs CNX, and MERCU (Myanmar Emergency Response Coordination Unit), organizations working on the ground in Burma to provide people with emergency humanitarian relief and long-term recovery.
“The donation amount from this event is 18,440 Thai baht [$569 USD]. This money will be divided and donated to MERCU and Butter Burma,” said Phee Htell, the organizer from Turning Tables, a non-profit organization working to empower socially, economically and politically marginalized youth in different global contexts, including Myanmar. The event featured performances by Thai and Myanmar artists, including Chayanan, Juice Free, Triple Edge FM, Paul Mushi, Born in Burma, and Dada Sun.
