Mar 10, 2008 (DVB), Detained National League for Democracy member Ko Min Aung has been transferred to a new prison for the third time in a month, his mother said.
Ko Min Aung, the financial coordinator of Taunggok township NLD in Arakan state, was sent to Kalay prison in Sagaing division last week.
Daw Saw Phyu, his mother, said a friend of Min Aung had informed her last Thursday that he had been moved from Mandalay prison.
"He passed me a message via his friend that he is in Kalay prison now and that he is in good health. He said there was no need to worry about him," Saw Phyu said.
Min Aung was arrested by authorities on 13 October 2007 in Taunggok after he arrived back from Rangoon.
Four days later, he was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison, but this was reduced to two and a half years the following month.
Min Aung was held in Sandoway prison until 10 February, when he was transferred to Insein prison in Rangoon.
On 27 February he was transferred again to Mandalay prison, where he was detained for about a week before being moved again to Kalay prison.
