Lawyer Khin Maung Aye dies

Oct 17, 2007 (DVB), U Khin Maung Aye, a lawyer who has acted for detained National League for Democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, died of a stroke at around 9am yesterday at the age of 64.

U Khin Maung Aye represented Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in a lawsuit filed by her brother in 2000 for joint ownership of the house she has lived in since 1988.

His remains will be cremated today at Htain Pin cemetery in Rangoon.
