A festival of Thai-Myanmar solidarity featuring art, food, comedy, poetry, music and traditional Thangyat performance started Wednesday at Some Space gallery in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It was organized by an ad-hoc collective of Thai and Myanmar artists, chefs, curators, designers, researchers and scholars.
“These are not just artists. They are also activists. And what is it they want to change? We have [had] various conversations. Every conversation ends up with [us] being stuck in the middle,” Hnin, the event organizer, told DVB. “We are in limbo.”
