The annual underground hip-hop concert MOB Party was held at DemoCrazy! in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on Nov. 29. Thai, Myanmar, and international hip-hop artists performed to raise funds for people across the border in Myanmar impacted by civil war.
“[MOB Party tries] to build relations between Thai and Burmese artists, to build greater networks across the world [and in] Southeast Asia,” said Kan Kyi, the organizer of MOB Party and the lead emcee in local hip hop group Triple Edge.
MOB Party raises funds for children who remain stateless and are at risk due to displacement and lack of access to education, according to Kyi. Thai hip hop artist Elevenfinger, who was recently released from prison in Thailand, headlined the event.
