NUG officials meet with Timor-Leste President in New York

A National Unity Government (NUG) delegation led by its Foreign Minister Zin Mar Aung met with Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta in New York on Sept. 21. The two parties discussed the progress in the resistance to military rule in Burma, according to the NUG.

Ramos-Horta spoke to the U.N. General Assembly. He urged the international community to resolve the political crisis in Burma and provide humanitarian assistance to its people. The NUG also reportedly engaged in discussions for ‘cooperation’ with officials from the U.S. Department of State on Sept. 20.
