Jul 3, 2008 (DVB), The chairperson of Phyar Pon township Peace and Development Council is under investigation after being accused of misappropriating bags of fertiliser provided to township farmers, locals said.

Rumours have been circulating among locals that Phyar Pon TPDC chairman U Myo Myint Zaw had an argument with district PDC chairman U Myo Chit recently over the allegation.

An investigation has now been launched into the accusation that U Myo Myint Zaw has sold 5000 bags of fertilizer which the government had supplied to local farmers.

Locals farmers said they were disappointed to hear the claim that their fertiliser had been sold.
