Tens of thousands of supporters of the National League for Democracy crammed into Myo Oo pagoda ground in Rangoon’s east on Sunday for the biggest rally of Burma’s now seven week election campaign period.
The thronging crowd was there to see Aung San Suu Kyi who told them that if elected the NLD would rule for all.
No police presence was visible at the massive gathering, where a party atmosphere reflected a widely held belief that the NLD is set for a landslide victory when Burma goes to the polls on 8 November.
