After more than a decade apart, Aung San Suu Kyi yesterday met her son, Kim Aris, who had flown in the greet the opposition leader now free from house arrest. Conditions of her detention meant she could not use a telephone or receive visitors, bar her doctor and lawyer, and thus was banned from communicating with her family.
